Strategy and Analysis
The purpose of this process is to collect and consolidate data, make purchase strategies and secure that all stakeholders fully understand them. The supplier segmentation and solution based purchasing budgets are also done in this process.
Market Survey and Supplier Identification
This process is for securing that we have the right market knowledge and know the right suppliers with the right products. The request for quotation work process is used for identifying suppliers and materials.
Supplier evaluation and selection
A crucial step is to maintain and evaluate all necessary supplier related information in order to be able to select the right suppliers. The Supplier evaluation and selection process follow guidelines of the Purchasing strategies, Supplier segmentation and Supplier strategies.
Agreements
This process step is to secure that we have agreements that fulfil the needs of our customers and are according to targets set in the Strategies. All Wärtsilä purchasing and co-operation agreements are included in this process, high level strategic alliances like co-design agreements are done in Strategic planning and management key process.
Supplier performance evaluation & development
The purpose of this process is to secure that we have suppliers that are able to respond to the needs of our customers. This process is typically done for selected suppliers as specified in the Supplier strategy.
